  • Prefer daylight and a location you know.
  • Tell someone where you’re going and when you expect to be back.

Trust your instincts

  • If something feels wrong, cancel or reschedule.
  • Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true.
  • Don’t share personal or financial details beyond what’s needed for the deal.

Payment and handover

  • Prefer cash on collection or a secure method you both agree on.
  • Inspect the item before paying.
  • Don’t send money in advance to someone you don’t know.
